Compost added on top of growing bulbs

Hi

i had some bulbs that were already starting to sprout, I could see some of the leaves already

i have added a couple of inches of compost on that pot as the level was too low. Would it affect the growing plant, or will it be able to grow through the new layer of compost?

thanks

I'd say that is just fine.

    I agree. I don’t think that’ll be a problem. 😊

I often do it if I've moved bulbs and they're in pots, because the levels sink a bit over time - there's no problem at all. If I'm mulching anything in a border during late winter, the daffs still to come through get an extra layer. Most bulbs benefit from being deeper anyway.  :)
