It would make zero difference to them. Just like the eggshells and umpteen other 'deterrents' -that really aren't. They happily crawl all over thistles up here.
Of course, the other problem is that the plastic grass get a lovely layer of moss over it if it's in a shady and damp site. I pass several houses that have that situation. They'd have been better just keeping their grass!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
