Do slugs and snails walk over artificial grass or do they find it too spikey?

My molluscs happily walk over gravel, wool and chilli powder, so I don't think some astroturf will prove a problem.

Slugs and snails can be a pest of cacti. Have a look on Google images and be amazed by the spikey things they happily slither over.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Oh, I was thinking if I will put hosta pots on artificial turf.... Looks like no point.

It would make zero difference to them. Just like the eggshells and umpteen other 'deterrents' -that really aren't. They happily crawl all over thistles up here.

Of course, the other problem is that the plastic grass get a lovely layer of moss over it if it's in a shady and damp site. I pass several houses that have that situation. They'd have been better just keeping their grass!  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
