Magnolia Tree turn Brown buds few days after flowering

Hello
My son has rented a property with a very well established Magnolia Tree whose buds blossomed last week. When he arrived home this afternoon all the flowers have turned brown… Neither of us are gardeners but would love to save this beautiful tree and appreciate advice on how to do so.
Also is it likely to bloom again if we can save it..?

I agree. The flowers last longer in a mild grey spring than one with cold nights and sunny frosty mornings. Worse if it gets the morning sun on it before the air temperature has risen.
The tree itself will be fine and will bloom again next year.

I don't think they're repeat bloomers  :( (otherwise we'd all be dead-heading them and keeping them going for longer).

Ours has been great this year with fab flowers for some weeks but then we haven't had frosts or rain. Had high winds so our paths look like confetti as the petals are falling.
No they won't flower again this year but worth the wait next year.

They also like enough moisture to ensure proper development of buds - like many spring flowering shrubs/trees. If it went a bit short last summer/autumn, that may have affected it.
However, it's usually as @JennyJ says - some frosts then sun, or alternatively - very rough weather, just when flowers open, are the most common reason for the flowers browning and falling early. It's the same with things like Camellias.

It's one of the problems with many of these early shrubs/trees . The weather has a huge impact, unfortunately, just when you want to enjoy the flowering.
No - it won't flower again later.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
