Planting spent bulbs in garden

alfharris8alfharris8 Posts: 513
Some potted Iris reticulata and crocus have now gone over.  I would like to use them to fill in gaps next year, if they come back.
Can they be transferred to the ground now or must I lift and wait until Autumn?
Thanks

You can plant them now, while you can see where you want them to be. Put them a bit deeper than the pot depth (with some extra soil on top) - particularly the iris.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
