Is this plant dead?

Good Morning
Will this plant do better in the ground rather than the pot if its still got a chance?

Is it a fuchsia? The hardy magellanica fuchsia get quite big and need to be in the ground. The other types are usually ok in containers.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

It certainly isn't dead, it's still early in the season.  It may need pruning, depends on what it is. I cut my hardy fuchsias down each year, they will flower on new fresh growth.

If it is going to stay in a pot it will need feeding and watering.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
