It hard to find a proper gardener who knows their onions its a really unappreciated skill . The problem is it doesn't pay hence why so many do the Mow & Blow to pay the bills.
I'd be interested to know how your search goes @Fire. I really hope that you can find someone to restore your friend's garden to its former glory so that he can enjoy it once again
