Some very modest success and one problem this season.
I finally had blooms on three roses at the same time last week
But I do think Inhave a problem with the newest addition in February of a Sophie’s Perpetual.
It flowered once, early, I dead headed and not a sausage since. I’m about to mulch with manure for the autumn/winter but wondered if there were any other tips I can pick up from you all?

Hiya @JoeX I think this is probably not a problem at all. I'd guess as it's new it's putting down roots to establish itself rather than putting energy into flowering.
Your Darcy is looking good @Eustace, after a good start, mine has been a bit stingy with blooms of late. Thanks for your and @Athelas’ input on Roald Dahl, sounds as if it can take both shade and heat reasonably well. No fragrance is a concern though, maybe rules out a standard as something at nose height should be good to sniff, I think.
Lady Hillingdon (shrub) still putting out lovely blooms and copes with shade well:
Souvenir de Marcel Proust continues to impress, no so much in terms of bloom quantity, which will hopefully get better, but fragrance, longevity and size of blooms at 5” across:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Catching up on a million wonderful, colourful posts
Aw, smashing Smudge! Your garden is looking wonderful @Nollie after all the extreme weather you seem to have had this year. I think I would try Proust if it was available somewhere I was already ordering, fab yellow and a 'proper' yellow-yellow I see.
Hope your cat is ok @dabolem. I inherited a geriatric, toothless cat some years ago and she seemed to get on just fine and ate pretty much everything (in tiny portions) so I hope yours will recover soon.
Very glad for the recent rain, not least because I could reclaim my bath and utility rooms from all the water collecting contraptions. Looking back through my pictures it feels like summer happened very early this year, at least rose wise it was the most floriferous, as apart from a few solid characters, most have just been flowering in dribs and drabs not in flushes for a few months now.
I dug out a few photos of my Night Owl to show real colour of it in sun and shade, although I've now forgotten who ordered it, sorry. They were wider view shots I've snipped so not very good. Mine is a one-stick-wonder (as discussed higher up in the thread ) but probably my fault. It got over run by an aster a few years ago and I had to move it for the second time. Mine is only about 4 - 4 1/2' and thin, good as a tall filler in a bed.
Here's my TCL order of roots for this winter. I've also got a wish list for DA but will wait for the offer code. There are two I wanted from Jones the Rose also but am still musing.
Your Night Owl is glorious, Vic. I thought long and hard about a TCL order but I'd prefer it if they took payment immediately.
I am hoping to place a small DA order of any combination of LEH, Darcey B, Charles Rennie Macintosh, Falstaff Winchester Cathedral and Jubilee Celebration-- whatever is in stock when they start sending out discount codes. My only criterion is "stupidly pretty blooms."
I have discovered the joys of "running out and getting blooms in from the rain outside" - Tranquillity, Henri Delbard and PAoK and Amazing Day all being quite good in a vase (or glass!).
@Nollie Roald Dal is in 2rd year full sun (mostly afternoon) all day, and only the outer petals crisped during the UK heatwaves. It flowered in waves, was resting during dry hot summer. I can’t detect any scent but I like the varying colours and flower form. Nice bushy plant. It forms nice big hips if you don’t cut down the spent flower and the flower size is similar to Royal Jubilee.
I've given myself a challenging amount of work to do this back end again, both my fridge salad drawers are full of bulbs I need to plant; trying to hold them off for now. I've also decided to rearrange the top end of the garden and I want to buy and install a new 300 litre waterbutt.
Evelyn Fison, looking ok now I've have decided to get rid of it. It is not looking like a good specimen for a pot (2nd year potted) and hated being touched by other plants when in the ground previously. This year it contracted mildew but it has got over it now (without assistance). Nor much flowering going on at the moment but a profile shot showing what dense healthy looking shrubs The Lark Ascending and Flanders make. Julia Child in the little grey pot, pot being upgraded this winter; this rose gets on with things without any fuss. Year 1 Roald Dahl in nearest pot. This second half of the year Hot Chocolate threw up two 5' canes with lots of little flowers. I wish I could get it back to the smaller lumpy and super-flowering floribunda. I couldn't quite get the colour right on Lady Emma Hamilton but you all know what it looks like. Looking nice surrounded by persicaria, one of my staple late summer plants. This is a decorated admin area with two summer flowerers to the left, Tuscany and Alba Maxima but just wanted to show all the lovely Persicaria which this year kindly arranged themselves in height order. Lovely, useful plants, visited by lots of different pollinators.

Take care @Marlorena, enjoy your garden
