Snowdrop seed heads

@BobTheGardener hi, just a note to tell you that your instructions about sowing the snowdrop seed heads have had results. I showed the seeds as instructed and I now have a carton full of lovely green shoots. Looking forward to next year. Valerie

You may have a longer wait than that. Snowdrops typically take about 5 to 7 years to flower.

I can't actually remember giving any advice about sowing snowdrops - are you sure it was me?  :D

  • @BobTheGardener , thank you, may 21 @Palustris. I was hoping for a shorter wait than that, but let’s hope I can wait that long. Valerie

@valerieroberts Thanks for the pointer!  I remember those now - the extra large seedheads!  :)  Yes, it will take at least 3 years, but fingers crossed! :)

If you sow some every year then before long you will get to see new flowers every spring.
  • They were in a neighbourhood garden and I asked for a seed head as they were the biggest I have seen. I was so fortunate to be given seed heads and some in-the- green-bulbs. They have finished flowering now but they were splendid. So I’m building Them up. Valerie
