Fuchsia Bush Paula Jane

Can anyone tell me what to do with this plant.   I was given this Fuchsia last year, and it was very floriferous until the first frosts. I kept it frost free overwinter and it is beginning to show green shoots.  Will it grow as a standard naturally, or should I just leave it to do its own natural thing? (I am not particularly keen on the standard shape but will it become a bush if I just leave it)?
As you can see I am totally at a loss as to what to do next………

    If you leave it, it will become a bush. You would need to remove the side shoots up as far as you want bare stem if you want it to be a standard. I'm not sure when to do it, but I wouldn't do it yet.

    It's only just beginning to wake up, so for now, do nothing except keep it frost free and keep the compost moist (not soaking). Once it's grown a bit more (maybe give it 3 or 4 weeks) you'll be able to see whether any of the shoots have died back (no growth) and trim them off back to the new green growth (or a bit further if you like, to make it a nice even shape). Then you can repot it with fresh compost or start feeding - last year's compost won't have much nutrition left in it.
