outdoor, multiplug extention lead

A thought wandered across my mind - "wouldn't it be great if there was such a thing as an outdoor multiplug extention lead". "I wonder if it exists", I pondered. I looked it up, and there it is! I have an outside plug but it only has one socket. My multiplug would have light use, for things like anti cat sonics, a small pond pump and possibly a trail cam. Not used for drills or lawn mowers. I don't suppose it would need a circuit breaker.

Has anyone used a multiplug garden extention? For people looking for outdoor electrics, if you have any old holes, such as used to house external ducts or air vents, you could pretty easily run this extension from inside the house to the garden and mount the box on the wall. Or drill a fairly small hole through a wall...

I have, for Christmas lights.  I rigged the junction up with a plastic bag to keep moisture out.

Dove, that one doesn't seem like it's for outdoor use...

@Fire … why not?  I’m not going to be using it in heavy rain.

Are some people talking about ones that can be left outside and others ones that are suitable for outside use but not all the time?

This is only slightly related but I watched this video last week which gives a great DIY solution to fitting outdoor sockets without having to pay an electrician to wire it up to the ring main. It's effectively making a permanent extension lead to the outside of your house. I'd still use a socket with an RCD built in personally though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

The plug extention I was discussing is a permanent fixture outside, for linking pond pumps etc. It's designed for the garden.

Sounds dangerous @fire … unless you’re incorporating an RCD and using armoured cable.

Outdoor extensions are available form Argos - designed for purpose and some models do come with a breaker.

Interesting vid @wild edges and a good content creator. Thanks for that.

Yes, out door extension cables are available all over the place ... I've just checked and ours is labelled for outdoor use ...... but I wouldn't use one for permanent installation.  There used to be all sorts of regulations about that ... I know they've changed but since I'm no longer involved in the building business I'm not sure what the new regs are ... I think @raisingirl knows ...
