What to plant above sewer pipe

hi all, I have a question about what to plant above a sewer pipe in my garden.

Currently I have a 15 ft empty border to the left of my garden that has a sewer pipe running underneath it.

My neighbour can see straight over my fence and I’d like to block them out. It’s a shady spot and I realise I shouldn’t plant trees.

Has anyone got any good suggestions please?

Thanks, Brett

How far down is the pipe ?
  • Pipe is 5ft down, also trying to avoid a big garden 😂
  • Thought about trellis or a large Roman arch with a climber. Im putting a 7ft fence up but need to get some extra greenery there, ideally tall. Im going for a modern garden with drifts of grasses but can’t use bamboo for the same issues with the pipe.

Others might correct me, but i reckon you can plant pretty much anything you want if the pipe is five foot down. Maybe not willow or trees or shrubs that are particularly thirsty, but most shrubs and small-medium trees would be fine

Sorry, Think you'll find you are not allowed to put up a 7ft fence. Maximum is 2 metres (6ft 6inches).
