I've got the Voss ones too. I charge them using the mains adapter every 10 days or so. Takes about 1 - 3 hours each, depending on how much activation there has been.
Don't have any little gobsh*tes around here @Fairygirl .... so it must be working eh

Sorry @Plantminded .... I meant to say that when I'm charging I turn them to position 0 and then plug them in. The red light flashes whilst they charge, and turns to a solid red light when they've finished.

Thank you @Fairygirl and @Bee witched, yes I've followed the instructions, turned off while recharging but the light still flashes after more than three hours of charging. I bought two a while ago and have only just started to use the second one so I think I'll change the batteries too. They seem to work though - good point about the flashing being bad for birds, I'll change the setting! Can't be upsetting the blackbirds!

I think you're meant to reset it anyway aren't you, after charging? I do it anyway, just to make sure it's all good.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
