ID flowers at the dentist’s

At the dentist’s today there was some debate amongst the waiting patients and the receptionist as to whether or not these were chincherees.  I knew you lot would know so I said I’d post a pic to get a firm answer ….

    They remind me of ornithogalum - I googled to check, and chincherinchee is a type of ornithogalum :)
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    Looks like Ornitholgalum saundersiae (star of Bethlehem), which yes is also known as chinkerinchee or chincherinchee

    Pretty flowers, but it is very invasive

    These came from a florist’s stall on Norwich market, so I presume the dentist need have no fear of invasion … not by flowers anyway 😉

    Thought I'd mention it just in case you where considering one.

    I picked up a big one in flower for 50p yrs ago and left it on the gravel by the shed for a long time.
    The following year I found them growing in the gravel and in other pots nearby.
    I done some research then swiftly put it and the others in the green bin!
