“Indoor” daffodil bulbs, what to do with them now

I bought a couple of pots of miniature daffodils, which have now finished flowering. Can I just plant the bulbs in the ground outside and leave the foliage to die down? I’m not keen to dry and store them, as I’ll probably forget all about them, they’ll go mouldy or get eaten, and I’ll forget to plant them at the proper time. I’m not a very organised gardener.

We do exactly as you are wanting. Let them flower indoors, nip off the dead heads and them plant them in the garden to die off until next year.

They will be much better off in the soil, make sure you plant them deeply enough and if you can mark where they are that will help you.@thevictorian said remove heads as that is where the seed is and don't be tempted to cut back foliage foR six weeks.

That’s great advice, and so quick! Hopefully I will be out in the garden tomorrow, the green bins are due for collection on Wednesday and currently empty. Several spots I can put the bulbs in, where they can die down in peace and hopefully come up next year.
    Thanks all.
