New rhubarb - what's happened? :(
Not a disaster I know, well not yet anyway.
Wondering if something has been trying to eat it?
It could be that our dog has trodden on it, but I can't really see how.
Thanks for any help. It was doing so well too.

Seeing that it's a first year crown, wondering if I should remove the stalk or leave it alone? Don't want disease setting in, and it would be nice to have a little bonus taster in a very small apple and rhubarb crumble. If the stalk's still able to support the young plant, then I'll leave it be.

I'd remove it and use it ... pulling and twisting carefully from the base, so that it doesn't leave a stump that can rot. Enjoy!
