Weird growth in apple trees
Hi,
i have 3 espalier apple trees that are heavy producers. They are about 8 years old. I started noticing that they all 3 have a strange bulge at the bottom near the root ( presumably where they were grafted). Is this something to worry about or it it normal on grafted trees? The pear tree is unaffected.
The apples are lord Lambourne, bountiful and Fiesta.
i have attached pictures.
