I'd agree @JennyJ re the longer stems. They aren't benefiting the plant now, and could be removed even before they die back as I said earlier. They could certainly go outside [just in their pots] if the weather and temps are suitable, and within a week or so they could be left out - again depending on the location and weather etc. Tucked in somewhere against a wall away from the worst of the weather would be fine, or even under a bench or similar. I do that with small plants - including some I got in autumn. You'd just have to be careful if a cold spell was imminent. I couldn't put new, young plants out without a bit of cover at this time of year, but in warmer parts of the country, it's easier.
