Another plant ID

I remember buying this plant about at least 6/7 years ago, and it has been in this pot ever since, evergreen, no flowers, and always looks like this, any ideas??

  • Pittosporum?
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .
  • Looking at my Reader's Digest book on plants and the Shrub Expert, it is possible as there seem to be a lot of different species .
  • Yes there are several sp.
Suspect this shrub hates being in a pot and would look far better be healthier..flower  if planted in the ground.

I had a Pittosporum in a pot for a couple of years but then it started to look a bit chlorotic, like this one.  Once in the ground, within a few weeks its leaf colour returned to a healthy green.
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

  • Thank you, I am thinking where to put it,
  • I agree it's a pittosporum and that it will likely be much happier in the ground. I had some cuttings I took from a friends plant and they looked the same as yours as I guess the compost was pretty exhausted. I planted them in the ground and they came back strongly and coloured up.
Some species can get pretty large so once it does look healthier, pop a picture up and it might be possible to tell you the cultivar.
  • Thanks, think I have found a spot for it, when the weather changes will have a go,
