Storm Eunice

Thanks to Storm Eunice I now have a flower bed about 2-3 metres long to fill.

It is North facing but the wall is only 3 feet high so obviously the other side is South Facing.

I am looking for one or two shrubs to fill the space which flower for a large part of the year and are evergreen.

About 2 metres high.

The soil is not acidic.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

There's not much that would be evergreen and flower for a large part of the year  :)
Most of the shrubs which people think need acidic soil, actually don't - ie Azaleas, Rhododendrons, Skimmias, Pieris etc, so as long as your soil isn't at the alkaline end of neutral, those would work. Viburnums would be fine too - again, evergreens and deciduous varieties.
You could pick one of those [hundreds of varieties] and then pick a summer flowering shrub, or something that offers late interest in the way of berries ,flowers and/or autumn colour. Ilex, Mahonia etc.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you - I will look into these.

sorry if I've missed another thread, but why is this 'thanks to storm Eunice'? If it's an exposed location that could be windy in winter, a lot of the broad leaved evergreens will struggle
