Trusty labelling?

Saw this in the local Wilko but the image doesn't look like the Johnson Blue plant I've seen before?

Is this just an error with the image or a misleading plant name?

Thanks.

  • I think it will probably be Johnson's Blue but I agree packaging is misleading. It is an easy geranium to grow and very easy to get out of hand in my garden.

It's difficult to say without seeing the leaves and flowers of the growing plant!  However, I suspect that the colour reprographics at the printers are at fault, Johnson's Blue is much more of a rich sky blue than a mauve blue.  Worth a try for £2!
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

  • I'm cautious as I bought a 'Johnson's Blue' from a local fruit shop last year (as a small plant in a 9cm pot) and it certainly wasn't that variety as it grew absolutely huge, had much different flowers and took over a bed!

It could also be faded. Someone last year had a similar problem with a plant label, and that's what was wrong.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Ah, ok. I bought a couple so fingers crossed the packaging is just odd!

I was thinking of plant labels - as in the ones in pots, so @Plantminded is probably right and it's an error with the print. Blues are notoriously difficult to reproduce.
Fingers crossed it's the plant you want though.  ;)
