Can't identify this tree

I'm just curious, it's a neighbours tree that getting hammered! I've often admired the bustling noise it makes when the wind blows through it, bit like a popular except it's the wrong shape for a popular.

Funnily enough I've only just noticed it must be an evergreen. It's leaves resemble those of a weeping willow, long and thin.

It looks like a type of eucalyptus  :)
  • Thanks @AnniD I wondered about that but I didn't think they grew that tall. But after having a quick check... we live and learn.  :)

They can be coppiced or pollarded to restrict growth and still be attractive in a garden - that one looks about as tall as I'd want it! I hope it's not too near your house!
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

  • No I think it's far enough away, it's in the garden at the back of my next door neighbour. Think I'd be a bit peeved if I lived next door as it must be shading out their morning sun. Our gardens are NE facing.
