Another newbie question...

Hi again - I'm a newbie gardener. I have what will be a wildflower area in summer, and am going to sprinkle seeds on it and also put down some of those seed mats. Should I rake the seeds in, and if so what sort of rake should I get? (I'm thinking the old-style soil rakes rather than the wide-pronged leaf type rakes?) Many thanks!

Just a tip @susiebower , if you find a net or so for protection, this will help to keep the neigbourhood's cats out of the new "cat toilet".
