I'm grumpy because another letter came addressed to Hubby and I had to call to tell them he's dead, and ask them not to send anything else.

Bloody insurance companies! My house insurance is due for renewal next week so I'd set a diary reminder to check prices this weekend. Now it turns out they've taken payment and automatically renewed the insurance a week early. :|
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

You’ll get your money back, just phone them,  with all insurance you have to tell them in advance not to auto renew.

They shouldn't take the payment off your card early though. That could cause problems for anyone who's close to their limit and needs it for something else.

I have a disturbingly long list of people in public life that I just can't bear to look at. Most are politicians, but not all.
