    In my case @GardenerSuze, I was getting fed up with local kids climbing on the postman's box, standing/sitting on it and staring in. It's right next to the boundary fence - about half way along the length of that screen.
    They weren't happy that I'd put a fence up and spoiled their 'playground'. It became clear very quickly after moving in that they were used to running around on what had been an open piece of grass. 
    It gave me some instant privacy to create the garden, until the planting along the boundary fence grew  :)
    I think the Pyracanthas certainly helped with that too  :D

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • @Fairygirl I have planted ghost brambles in my front garden. The street lighting is poor and I was fed up with people backing off my neighbours drive straight across my garden. The brambles look very spooky in the dim light and so far it has worked. The things we do to protect both our privacy and our gardens! 
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
