Couple of things to identify please

I "weeded" out the following from the courtyard outside as I was tidying up various bits of debris from the wind. Sorry about the order of the photos, help appreciated.

Pic 2 )the tall shoot - looks like its from an avocado stone (or some kind of similar sized seed) - growing behind another shrub next to a fence - any ideas - I'm not in the habit of throwing large fruit stones out, but I suppose an animal could have carried it in?
Pic 1 and 3 )
-- lots of these little seedlings around where I have a couple of cyclamen ( one of which is hederifolium and i can see little leaves coming out from it) -- are these baby cyclamen? I removed on the basis that nothing that seeds so successfully is anything other than invasive ( plus they were right on top of each other) - but is it worth trying to pot on or otherwise keep (some) alive if they are indeed cyclamen ( secateurs/ newspaper for scale)

I think they probably are baby cyclamen.
The big one I don't know. Maybe a tree seedling? Conker? Peach stone from the compost bin?
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Your little seedlings are cyclamen. Some varieties will reproduce happily. You can easily grow those on if you want or discard as you see fit.
I don't think the tall shoot is an Avocado.  The base doesn't look like it as they are  usually smooth and split and grow from the centre.  If you toss an Avocado stone in your compost bin in Spring then you can quite likely get a shoot but they normally need some warmth and time to get to that stage.
  • I have a lot of cyclamen seedlings in my garden and also lots of ants that kindly move them around.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
  • thank you @philippasmith2 @JennyJ - I'll grow them on !

Agree avocado unlikely could be a conker-ish seed ( that sort of size) but leaves aren't horse chestnut like , just singles. Either way , it definitely looks tree-ish so glad I took it out!

  • I think the tall one is an avocado as we have had popping up in our compost heap over the years...but then we do eat quite a few avocadoes.
