Greenhouse & Wind

So as I'm in the middle of a storm with 50mph sodding winds.... how can I protect my polycarb sheets from blowing out and splitting?

I've got some clear gorilla tape and I've anchored over the top with camp straps and pegged them in. And still 1 has blown out!! Help..

They is not much you can do at the moment, polycarb is very vulnerable to wind . Can try silicone the sheets and if you can get bar capping that will help. That what I've done with my glass greenhouse .

Silicone the sheets when the weather permits, that is what we have done with ours, we live high up and can get severe storms.

If its not too time consuming take some sheets out and open the door and let the wind blow through it is what I would do.

We have put extra bracing strips on ours and siliconed the roof panels in. However, I may be resigned to losing it in Eunice.
My husband tells me it's Bernouli's principle, but I think it's more Sod's law.

I've got clear gorilla tape over all the sheets from front to back of the greenhouse both sides. Ropes over the greenhouse and well pegged in.
I can do no more except pray.
  • My garden is quite high up and exposed to Cornish SW weather so at the moment I am in the middle of the current storm. When I first had my glass/aluminium framed greenhouse, free from a recycling web site, with loosely fitting glass, I lost some panes of glass in the first storm. My son in law fitted extra clips throughout and it has survived a good number of gales since with no further losses.
I checked it first thing this morning and all was well but the wind has become much stronger since and I have not ventured outside. Time will tell
