  • Don't think there has been frost. In fact weather has been improving and getting a lot of sun. Last week we had min temp of around 5 degrees. I imagine frost is when it goes below 0?

    Frost can happen from +3 degrees and below. They would recover easily from that anyway. Compost wouldn't do any damage to any plant unless it somehow contained a contaminant. Sun wouldn't be a problem either. It would bleach the foliage a bit, but nothing more.
    They just don't look healthy at all. Cutting back and getting new growth should have helped, but there's still a lot of pest damage, so I'm not sure it's worth persevering with these. Something clearly doesn't suit them.
    Maybe time for a change.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
