I buy organic dried prunes, put them in a jar and pour a cup of hot earl grey tea over them (no milk!) then leave them to cool in time to eat with yoghurt and a sprinkle of granola for breakfast. Yum

An item in stock at Tesco online does not necessarily equate to it being stocked at their physical stores. I have also established they no longer sell it my local Tesco extra. They used to sell it there.
Following your own advice upthread, what did Tesco customer services say when (if?) you phoned them? Is the supply issue only with their own brand or is it a more widespread problem?
I sometimes struggle to find grapefruit juice (pink or yellow, not fussy). Only the massive Tesco stock it around here, so of course they sell out quite often (or my timing is bad - I don't go there very often because it's further than several other supermarkets). It's not a new problem though, it's been going on for several years. I went to the big Tesco yesterday and they had it so I stocked up , but they didn't have any oat bran (which is the other thing that no-one else around here seems to sell) and the chap I asked couldn't even find it in the system .
There is a fix for that. You just need to have the right phone conversation with customer services at their call centre.
Example: Tesco sell a tinned item that was always sold out when I went to buy some more. The reordering quantity was simply not matching the demand.
I phoned customer services not the store. I explained the problem in detail. Explaining the above issue , and pointing out that to increase ordering quantity would not only help myself and other customers, but it would also benefit Tesco. Mentioning how long the issue had been going on for, and that If a customer then has to go elsewhere-maybe a competitor grocer for the item, they are likely to buy a few other bits too.
I was fortunate to get a person in customer services that listened and understood. Not everone does. The lady assured me that she would arrange for the order to be sufficiently increased. I have never had an issue since I made that phone call. There are some helpful people at Tesco, but there appears to be a weak link somewhere.
If you make the call Jenny, you may just resolve the issue once and for all.
EDIT: Make sure you you have the bar code to hand when you phone up.
I have emailed. Polite but fairly woolly response, but the last two times they've had it in so I don't know yet whether they've changed things or whether I've been lucky with my timing. If it happens again maybe I'll phone. The people in the store do try to find things but I don't think they have access to any useful information. I do always thank them if they've tried though, it's not their fault if the system is broken. It would be useful (but not foolproof) to be able to check stock online before going like you can with B&Q.

I know they do, I usually buy it from there. This particular branch is rearranging things in store at the moment so I hope it's a temporary blip, but I'll pick some up from Holland & Barrett if I'm near there before I'm next at Tesco (I'm not a loyal shopper - I go to different places depending on what I want and where's convenient on the day).
