Plastic greenhouse - how to prevent it from blowing away

Hi

last year I bought a greenhouse in Amazon, Woodside Tomato Garden Growhouse/Greenhouse With Reinforced Cover & Frame https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071JFCSGF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_SMTSY0KTNMCHBQ0C1G8W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 and it blow away to nobody’s surprise

i don’t want to buy a big greenhouse, something as big as that one or even smaller, just for 4-5 tomato plants.

What can I do to prevent It from blowing away?
Thanks

They need anchored onto a wall or fence here to stop them disappearing.
Some people put weights in the bottom, but that doesn't work IME. The winds  just tear the plastic instead.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Sand bags around the edge? Or some paving slabs sat over the frame?
  • I tried slabs and my experience is as described by fairy girl ;(
  • Bricks or paving slabs over the frame, the frame tent pegged into the ground, tied to a fence or wall ( and by tied I mean circled across the front too) , and then hope it doesn't loose its cover.🙄 And yes I do mean all of them at once.

I used some old plastic washing line round the top -above the door, attached to vine eyes on the fence, then onto the wall when I moved them to that site.
I eventually gave up on those plastic ones though - they just tear so easily in our weather. I now have a polycarbonate one, and it's anchored in the same way. The rope is fed through smaller eyes round the top of the frame.
    I don't think I  have a photo I'm afraid  :)

I've got mine strapped to the fence and weighted down. I try and distribute the weight evenly across (mainly) the bottom two shelves. It's worked so far ;)

  • I have just bought a small 4 shelf grow house today so it has yet to compete with the elements. The cover has 2 built in pockets at the bottom on either side which can be filled with sand or bricks to help hold it down. It is a bit of an experiment as I don't have room for anything larger. It is in a fairly sheltered spot so I will see how it lasts.
