Pruning to fill out Pyracantha Red Column?

Hi, planted this hedge last spring. North East facing and has done well in its first year but should I be thinking of taking the top off now to encourage bushy growth to fill out the sides? Thanks!

    The clue's in the title with this variety.  ;)
    It isn't meant to be 'wide' like most of the others. Mine is pretty much the size yours are, and it's been in for about 5 or 6 years. It's just the habit it has. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
