    Might I suggest cutting some into say 3 or 4in sections, making small bundles and tying them with raffia, and wiring them onto the base as a finishing touch?

    @Dogmum I saw these and thought of you. Maybe Sarah Raven has been reading your threads. They are non-Christmas wreaths - using physalis, hydrangeas, bracken, nigella, astrantia, artichokes, eucalypts, juniper and other things that dry well. Can I see some oat grass in there?  Quite stunning, I think. She does have a terrific eye. They use a woven willow base.

    I have found, in my recent experiments, that stocks hold their colour and dry wonderfully well. I tried them with pink from a bouquet I was given.
