How much can I trim curry plant?

  • @Fairygirl I have always been aware how different growing conditions are from north to south in the UK . I had never realised just how different until I saw your posts. You may struggle with Rosemary but I envy your Hydrangea Actaea combo sounds lovely . 
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    If I'm honest @GardenerSuze - I'd much rather have  Hydrangeas and Acteas, rather than rosemary, any day of the week  ;)
    It's just about working with what you have though isn't it? In hotter, drier areas, with light soil, the plant choices are often different from mine. It's all I've ever known though, which makes it easier. 
    I do get slightly envious that people further south can plant annuals out in late March/early April though. Waste of time here. The ground doesn't dry out or warm up till much later. Pots are a bit easier, but growth doesn't really get properly underway until May.
     If we were to have the kind of weather every April that we had last year, it would be different, but I'd expect that was a one off, even with the climate changes we're having. I certainly wouldn't be banking on it being that way most years   ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • @Fairygirl Actaeas have a beautiful smell I am sorry to tell you. Beautiful to look at too!

    I can barely smell them at all @GardenerSuze -even with my nose right against them :D
