Apple tree

My apple tree has been wrongly pruned for several years - my fault - I would welcome any advise as to how I can correct this. Thank you

  • I'm not sure of the variety but the fruit is very like a braeburn and it's  probably about 30 years old. It's too dark for a photo now but I will try tomorrow.

It also depends what you mean by 'wrongly pruned'   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I've just cut it anywhere that was too long.  It always bears so much fruit, in fact it fell over one year because there was so much fruit on one side, plus it's quite knobbly.
I will try to take a photo tomorrow.  Thank you both
  • I have taken photo's of the tree but it seems they've not come through. I need someone with more tech knowledge

Is it potted then @marion evans?
If you keep the photos around 1MB or less, they load better  :)

  • My apologies for not replying sooner but I had to get in touch with my tech man, sadly he couldn't send the photo's either he also tried to reduce the size - to no avail.
I think that without seeing the problem it will be difficult for you to pass on your advise.
Today I contacted a local arborist who is coming tomorrow. Thank you for your contribution. Marion
