What plant is this?

All the apps telling me it’s a common hollyhock. But it isn’t. I’ve lost the plant tag, but it has a woody stem and is determined to flower all year round (in London).

Its a Anisondontea , known for a very long flowering period in a sheltered area

Ooh. That’s a good guess. It might be. But the leaves are the size of my hand. Is the an A. species with large leaves?

I don't know to much about different varieties , I've seen El rayo in person but can't recall how large the leaves are .

Perki - you are a very clever person, thank you! It is indeed Anisodontea El Rayo; bought from Paddock plants. Paddock spell it Anisodontea 'El Royo'. You're info helped me track down my order form to confirm!

What a coincidence... this morning, on a short walk with a visiting friend of ours, our friend pointed to a slim potted shrub with a few pinkish flowers on it. She asked whether is was a Lavatera. I could immediately reply that it was in the same family, but was actually an Anisodontea (not so sure about the cultivar). And referred her to this post!
