  If they have nothing to support them, they can be quite floppy

  In my experience "Totally Tangerine" seems to be a more upright variety. "Mrs Bradshaw" flops all over the place but "Lady Stratheden" not quite so bad

  Thanks again folks.  It sounds as though mine were flopping not creeping, but doing it in a way that created a good effect.  Mine had also retained a lovely leaf base which was what got accidentally pulled by the gardener :-(.  At least I understand now what it was we had and I can replce.
