As an update, I have finally found that Burnoose nursery have the Seven Son flower tree in stock and I have just ordered one for delivery next week. I went for the larger tree which came to £82 including delivery..

Sounds good @LeadFarmer, hope you'll be very pleased with it. Photos later please!

Only you can decide.  There are gardening books that have pictures and advice.  Check out the suggestion you have received on one of these.

Some great ideas. Where are you in the country North or South? Your garden does appear to be sheltered. Also soil type should be considered. I grow Amelachier Ballerina as mentioned by @KeenOnGreen columnar in shape happy on most soils but not very dry.

    Thread's a year old @GardenerSuze ;)
Lead Farmer had mentioned getting a particular tree and was updating, but the OP [@alexwatkins1992 ]  hasn't come back with any other info, or to say if he bought anything.
It's a pity, because it's always nice to hear what people choose.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I'll just put it down to your age @GardenerSuze :D

Sometimes it's more interesting when threads go off at a tangent though  ;)

Yes, sorry for any confusion I was just updating the thread as I knew I’d posted about trying to find that tree somewhere on this forum. Though it might not be suitable for the Op as I think my tree grows to 6m tall. I wanted it for the bees, so I’ll pop over to the bee thread and post it there too :)
