I saw this shrub when I was out walking today. Does any one know what it is please? It intrigued me because some of the leaves are variegated, some are dark green and some are lime green. It was growing in a domestic garden, in light shade, close to woodland. Thank you.

Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

Maybe a female holly called Ilex × altaclerensis 'Golden King'
The plain green leaves are where it has reversion.
