Resistant bug

This bug is destroying a beautiful bush in my garden. I've tried various pesticides but nothing seems to even aggravate it, let alone, kill it. I definitely need help in identifying this bug and finding a solution to killing it before a thirty year old bush dies. Thanks in advance.

    It looks like Euonymus scale
Some info from the RHS here should help-

Thanks for the info. I've looked it up on the RHS site and it's definitely the same bug. Now I know its name, I should be able to target it more effectively.

I get it on my euonymus hedge every year - I don't spray it and it hasn't done a lot of harm, but hedge is quite out of sight, so I don't see it often

I got this pest on my 20 year-old Euonymus. Finally got fed up and uprooted it without any regret.

Euonymus can take hard pruning, I pruned a shrub back to almost ground level and it is now very healthy again. I have noticed Scale insect on another one but not so bad so will try just light pruning.
