Good morning RosieBB, Debs and all. Lovely news Great Aunt T'Bird and OH. I think Russell is an excellent choice by the baby boy's brother.

RosieBB its funny how cats always want to be on your knee when you want to do something and other times they ignore you completely - well Lily does anyway.
Debs, I'm glad to hear that Leo is recovered now and I did smile at your description of stitching yourself to the curtains. It reminded me of an amusing situation - though not quite the same version as yours - I had once at school. I had a young student teacher in one of my classes once. She was naturally a little nervous and was going to show the class a film during the lesson. This was in the 'olden days' before white boards etc. and we had arranged a free standing, roll down white screen for her to use. As she was setting up the screen she failed to secure the bottom of the screen and as she stood next to it - in full view of my 15 year old class - the screen rolled itself up and on its retraction it hooked into the bottom of her skirt and rolled that up too. I had to leap in and save her embarrassment. The boys in the class were most impressed!

Good morning . TBird congratulations on the new arrival. LB ,gorgeous little cardigan.Rosie ,why don’t you buy a tin of dried milk as a stand by .Not as good as fresh milk but in bad weather could save you having to go out. Thinking of school . I was sent to stand behind the mobile blackboard because I had been talking .During the rest of the lesson I drew a pick of not very pleasant woman on the black board and wrote teacher at the side of it .I had intended to rub it off the board but the teacher heard some boys sniggering and came to see what the fuss was about .You don’t need to guess who got a hundred lines for her cheek .Forgot to say ,I was about nine years old .
  • Morning everyone,
Brrrr sounds very chilly outside today. So very windy πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨ Had thought of going to look round the shops for a new long cardigan and top, but don't think I'll bother now.

Eek Hazel! That story made me wince! Ruby - naughty girl! It has been sleeting here. I thought it was rain but when I looked at my car roof and the opening lights on my GH - where the white stuff had gathered - I realised what it actually was. However it has stopped now and the sun is shining - not warm at all though. Going out to lunch today - with the quizzers and looking forward to it. These first Fridays of the month seem to come round very quickly. See you all later. Hello to Yvie and Ante if you are looking in - hope all is good with you. Have wonderful days everyone.
p.s. Guess who spoke too soon. Skies have gone black and there is a fierce hail storm occurring! Ho hum!

    Morning all.

Ouch @Songbird-1 that made me wince too! Didn't it hurt afterwards?

Congratulations @Topbird on the arrival of your new great nephew.

Light rain showers forecast for today. I'll do some unmentionables and if it isn't raining I may prune the rest of the autumn raspberries. I need to put up more support for them. They grew taller than expected and flopped last year. I'd only done posts and wire for one row, the row with the tayberries in it.

    Morning all,

A mish-mash of everything here, including your hailstones @Ladybird4. The sun and blue sky was very fleeting :(

On hospital taxi duty today for a post back-op patient. She can't drive and needs some stitches out.

Hazel you made laugh . I remember those days so well .
  • The weather has been awful here today, heavy downpours, hail and very windy. It stopped raining about an hour ago, but still very chilly when I went out to the bin.Β
@Songbird-1 I don't wear jumpers, I prefer to wear long cardigans and shirt type blouses and layer up. I've been looking for a couple of cardigans for months now and nobody seems to sell them this year. I might go out on Monday and have a look in a few shops. Not that there's many shops left now, I miss Debenhams πŸ˜‰

    Good evening all.

I'm back and almost completely well. At wednesday I felt so ill so I made one more test which was negative. It seems that I have a proper cold. I bet that I get it last Friday when I was at cottage. Yesterday was first proper spring day. Sun, warmer and with that specific smell in the air. Now is again raining.Β
Two days ago my seeds arrived but I didn't have will to brag a bit to you. You see how ill I was 😁.
Hope that you are all well, because I didn't read back.Β
