Had these aglaonema a couple of years now - they’ve only ever had a maximum of 11-12 leaves, often some go soft soggy yellow and just pull away put new growth appears. They haven’t been in direct light and I don’t over water at all, if anything under water - but leaves never go crispy. Not sure what to do with them. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you 😊
I think two stems in the second pot are definitely gone 😔
They definitely aren't happy are they ? I think you're right and the second pot has had it. Not a houseplant l've ever grown, so bumping this up hoping that there's someone out there who does and can advise.
I don't grow the red ones but I have a few of the green types and I've only had the stems go mushy when I was away and my friend over watered them. The leaves turned yellow fell of and then the stems rotted from the top down. I was able to save some of the stems by cutting into solid material and drying them out a little. After they had been replanted the stems sprouted again. So I wouldn't chuck any stem out of there is any healthy material. The way you describe the leaves going yellow and mushy and then coming off, sounds exactly like mine did when they were over watered. They seem quite drought tolerant and I tend not to water until the leaves start to droop a little now and that seems to keep them happy. If you water when the top inch or so of compost is dry, keep them away from heat sources and drafts, then the happier one might perk up a bit.
@thevictorianzFH0qqPW thanks for that. I really don’t over water them at all. If anything I’m the opposite with them 🧐🤔 they are both in lounge away from direct light and drafts… the less good one was actually better than the other for some time but then not sure what happened. That one is a near a radiator. I wonder if they’ve got too dry in the winter months with the fire on too… I’ll have a look at the roots later as suggested earlier and let’s see 😬🤞 x
I bought one of these recently and it started to do the same thing, so I re-potted and added perlite and now water very sparingly. It's perking up and looks much happier so in my case I think I overwatered. Hope that may help a little.

@GardenerSuze I’ll try doing that today and post another photo - thank you 😌
