Gooseberry Bare Root Plants
Hi All!
I was hoping someone could help me answer the following:
I bought some bare roots gooseberry plants today, however unfortunately haven't had time to get them in the ground. I did soak them and then wrap them in newspaper - Should this be okay?
On a side note, one of the stems of one of the gooseberries fell off when packing them into the car... in an optimistic mood I've tried to take it as a 'cutting'
. I made an incision/cut into the 'live' part of the shoot, dipped it in hormone rooting powder and hoping this takes off - Does anyone reckon I'll have any luck with this?

The plants should be fine like that for a little while as long as they don't get frozen. If you don't have the spot ready for them, you can always pot them up or just heel them into a spare bit of ground if you have it.
