New-to-me garden and looking for some assistance identifying these plants if anyone can assist please. Apologies but the photos insist on loading wonky-

1.

2. Euphorbia, which kind?

3. A lot of dead wood in this climber I think, not much to go on other than some leaves.

4.

5. A rose obviously, but which kind?

No 3 looks like a clematis, and the thicket of stems is typical of a type of clematis montana

No 4 are they flower buds appearing? If so it may be one of the sarcococcas

The Rose could be New Dawn which is a climber. If the clematis is an early flowering montana prune after flowering.

Does indeed look like that, found this which matches- https://davisla6.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/camellia-japonica-leaf.jpg

Regarding the possible clematis, given it's clearly not been pruned in years, what would be the best way to go about dealing with it?

The clematis, take a pair of shears and cut off most of it, leaving that thick stem. It might be drastic but it works.  If its a montana you won't get flowers this year. If not you will have lots of regrowth and flowers later on.   I did that with one in my friends garden, it had not been touched in 3 years. I slaughtered it in April, by August it was full of flower.

    4. Your pic shows the very healthy fat, plump flower buds.
They may be simple with a few petals or double with many petals.
Colour might be  yellow, white, pink or dark red...enjoy.
    see pics below

Just for info Sarcoccoca have tiny flower buds and tiny spider like flower...which have an amazing strong scent.
Leaves are glossy green and narrow.
Followed by red berries or black depending on species.
    see pics below

I forgot about the photos from the ad when we bought the house, maybe not as much dead material as I thought. This photo must have been taken around May/June I think. Can just see a few flowers-
