  I’m the OP onthis thread. The flowers came out a couple of days ago. They’re lovely, but I expect there’s only one stem because I lifted the bulb to check it. A cautionary tale! 

  Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.
