Growing Echium Wildprettii

We've grown Echium pininana for a few years, and are familiar with its needs, but for the first time this year we're trying Echium Wildprettii 'Red Rocket', so if anyone here has experience with both of them, have you noticed any particular differences in how the Wildprettii behaves, and in particular, how well it deals with wintry weather and pests? Thanks!
