Best clematis supplier?

Hi - Over the last five years I've tried growing clematis from both Thorncroft and Taylors but I'd really like to know if anyone here has bought Clematis from other suppliers that they've been happy with?  I'd like to try again this year, but from somewhere different.  Thanks  :)

    Peter Beales clematis are supplied by Thorncroft. It helps both companies as people can see Thorncroft clematis growing in Peter Beales Rose Garden. Well worth a visit.

    That's interesting to know @Busy-Lizzie, re P. Beales.
    I'm not interested in roses, and I can't remember how I came across the fact that they did clematis - must have googled it.   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Try this place - https://www.hawthornes-nursery.co.uk/  They have the national collection of viticellas and also breed new clems as well as stocking a wide range. 
    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

    Though I haven't used then myself, Taylors Clematis in Doncaster are said to be very good, and they have appeared on GW. They aren't open for the public to visit though.

    Pre covid, Taylors clematis have opened to the public for Charity days in the summer, I have visited and l had a lovely time, staff very helpful and knowledgeable and tea and cake included in price. You could pre-order clematis to collect on the day. Well worth a visit when they open up again. 
    Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

    Tanty has already used them, and Thorncroft, which is why I didn't mention them  :)

    The suppliers all need to be mail order for those of us further north than England  ;)
    I'd forgotten about Hawthornes. Richard hasn't been on for a long while on the forum. 

    The nursery I use for a lot of my plants, stocks a fair number of clems, but there isn't anything particularly unusual, which is why I didn't mention them. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
