Are these Spanish Bluebells

Found these growing in a border but don’t think I’ve planted them. Could they be Spanish Bluebells? Thanks

That's difficult to tell without seeing the flowers although in my experience wild bluebells are usually round.

Very likely to be spanish bluebells. Sometimes mine look like that when I do the annual dig-up-as-many-as-I can-get-at operation.

Very early to be so tall green if Spanish Bluebells.

  • Thank you for replies. I think I will pull up as I don't want to be overrun with them, if they are Spanish Bluebells. In that area the only bulbs planted are Alliums. Do have a problem with Squirrels at the moment but don't suppose they would plant three bulbs close together :)

I recommend you wait and watch.

As pansyface has said..."Wait until they flower. 🙂"

I would not expect Spanish bluebells to be so tall mid January.

    Thanks.
I used to live in South Wales would not expect any bluebell to be so strong in Jan.
Even allowing for global weather changes.

In my experience Spanish bluebell leaves are more ‘splayed out’ by the time they reach that size … which would not be for a couple of months yet even in a sheltered spot.
What have you planted in that border?  Anything you might not recognise?

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
