It's the Voss 2000 I have @stuarta99. It was recommended on the forum, and it does seem to be more effective than others  :)

Sounds like something out of an 80s movie  :)

I see a bit more expensive but then it comes with batteries and USB charging seems handy.  I'll need to work out the size of my front garden to see how many I'll need.  It's pretty square and the plan was to put one by a lavender bush bottom middle and one by a rose middle left to cover entire area but this might be overkill as I think it's only about 50sqm.

What's the battery life like? I did think of wall mounting one but then under a windowsill, it probably wouldn't get the sun for the solar sensor

Pleased to hear that the Voss 2000 is beginning to help in your garden @Fairygirl.

I've no longer got any of them on the cat setting as the big bushy bruiser cat from the local farm seems to have got the message .... for now.
They are working well here stopping badgers trashing the place.
I still see badgers ... but not in the areas I'm trying to protect.

I bring them in during the daytime to recharge every 10 days, takes about 3 hours, so no big deal.
I did have what my OH calls a "blonde moment" when I put one back out facing the wrong way. It was facing 6 ins from a fence, so never going to get activated.
I like to think the badgers had a grin.

Pity you didn't have a wildlife camera to check on the grin @Bee witched ;)
I marked on my calendar when the batteries were charged @stuarta99 , and I think they lasted a few weeks. I expect it also depends on the amount of activity, just like anything else, because if you're not getting anything coming in, it won't get set off. You can charge the batteries too if it's not light and sunny, which means only needing to do it in the winter months, depending on the site you have it in.

That site had an offer last year if you bought two. I was hoping they'd have that again, because another two would mean I could cover the front garden, and have another one in a different site in the back. There's two bits they can get in here [back garden] and I'd have to constantly move it. Another one would be handy.

The only problem is that my daughter complains when it's on because she can hear it -quite common apparently! :D

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

ah ok so in a sunny setting, it does charge itself then.  Great for the summer in our front as it gets full sun.

I have mine mostly in a spot which doesn't get full sun in summer, and it still works well  :)
