Ah - apologies @valerieroberts. I thought you meant the colder spell would help to affect the beetles in some way. We don't really get the blossom problem here. Everything's later, so even though we can still have snow/ice/frost etc through April into May, blossom isn't appearing anyway, or none that would be affected by more cold spells. It's more usual to have heavy rain and wind spoiling emerging flowers and buds. I was out for a while moving stuff, and found a couple of pots of the dark red lilies I have. I've put them on the compost bins too, although they'll no doubt get knocked or blown off, so I may have to rethink that!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
