Many thanks to all of you for your kind comments on my garden. I can only take credit for the planting and weeding and grass cutting during the years. As son is currently here after three years absence due to the pandemic I am now getting a lot of help and can sit back and enjoy for a while. We have a hosepipe ban so I think a few plants may suffer. @Fire Don't grow veg although I did have a go at the beginning unsuccessfully and not worth my while as I am the only one who likes veg.
@Valley Gardener What you can see is the patio area. It used to be hidden from view on entering by the Echiums but with having to dig them up after they died it has left a space. There are three clocks- time, temperature and humidity. Unfortunately it is always 5.40 there as the bad weather stopped the clock from working! The grass has been mowed quite a bit recently so the weeds don't show so much. Now with the forecast of no rain and a hosepipe ban it will probably look more yellow than green.
One returning from time away, I'm sad to see that the thalictrum in the ground got stuck in its budding stage and the buds are withering. It likes soil much more damp than I can offer.... the plant itself seems ok. The white phlox is doing well.

Hollyhocks seem to be loving the heat. I'd love a whole garden of them but they never self seed. Bloody slugs.

Thunbergia has taken its sweet time (as an annual) - but it's now getting there. Beautiful, dark coloured blooms.

Bit late to the party Fran but .... Wow! What a lovely job you've both done
I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
Also thank you to others who have left lovely comments since I last sent thanks to others. Much appreciated.
