We've overlooked them upto now until this last weekend when we saw a beauty in someone else's open garden. I have a shady-ish spot in mind but my wife also wants one for 'her' bed so it looks like we'll probably be getting two

Thank you @AnniD, it makes a good show on that bank. I’ve been thinking that the berries are a bit early too! Maybe the lack of rain has triggered an early harvest. The blackbirds are now getting quite vocal about the feast!
Some pics of the day. My lawn is unwatered and brown all over, but most flowering plants are OK (they get a minimum of water at night, as allowed by the authorities).
